The story of Krumpe’s Do-nuts began when Rudolf Max Albert Lewis Krumpe, a young German, came to the United States shortly before World War I.
Rudolf was born on July 10, 1894 in or near Rudolstadt, Germany, which is located in east-central Germany on the Saale River....
Thousands of people started ringing in the New Year with one of Hagerstown's signature treats - a Krumpe's Donut! A six-foot-tall paper mache donut adorned with lights was lowered from the top of the clock tower building on Public Square before an excited crowd of friends and families for the first Krumpe's New Years Downtown Donut Drop presented by What's NXT.
